I have been under Mr. Goldsmith's care, including having surgery in November 2022. From the very first consultation he was amazing, kind, patient and had a fabulous way of interacting with me. I can't describe how lovely he was. The surgery was risky, in the terms of success, but Mr Goldsmith has given me my life back, which because of my painful condition, was non existant, and I pretty much had no quality of life. I haven't felt this well for about 18 months, and can now enjoy my life again.

After suffering for years with Acid Reflux and trying various PPI medication and sticking to an Alkaline Diet, I was diagnosed in April of this year with Barrett's Esophagus. I also had a Hiatal Hernia. At this point I knew I had to do something drastic, as my symptoms got more serious. It was then that I read online about the Linx device. After reading numerous success stories I booked an initial consultation with Mr Goldsmith. Speaking to Mr Goldsmith was like a breath of fresh air after speaking to numerous GPs over the years who had no real knowledge of Acid Reflux. All they did was to prescribe different PPI medication. Mr Goldsmith is another level to them and he knew exactly how I was feeling and the effects of Acid Reflux on my day to day life. After that one consultation I decided I wanted to have the Linx device fitted, and also a Hiatal Hernia repair. In August I had both procedures done at The Spire in Manchester by Mr Goldsmith. I can honestly say from waking up after the operation I noticed an immediate improvement in my symptoms, apart from a sore throat. The sore throat caused by years of Acid Reflux took around 4 weeks to completely go away, but I now have no symptoms of Acid Reflux at all. The Linx device has given me my life back, I can eat and drink anything I want and I can't speak highly enough of Mr Goldsmith and the staff at The Spire, Manchester. Andy Learmonth

I had a hiatal hernia repair and LINX surgery with Mr Goldsmith in February 2022. It is no exaggeration to say that the procedure has changed my life. I didn't know how much pain and discomfort I was in, or how restricted I had become in daily living until after the surgery. My nausea was such that raising my hands to wash my hair induced vomiting and my abdominal discomfort made playing the piano too painful. Now I can lie on my side and sleep through the night without heartburn, abdominal pain or nausea waking me. I can bend over, walk for miles and generally just live! For the first time in many years I can eat any food and drink alcohol without bloating or discomfort and generally feel like I have more energy. I was very nervous about the procedure but found Mr Goldsmith's approach very reasurring. From the first appointment I was put at ease, and functional tests and an endoscopy confirmed the initial diagnosis that he suggested after just 10 minutes of discussing my symptoms. Most importantly I felt like I was treated like I mattered. Before the surgery I was worried about the difficulties swallowing and oesophageal spasms that others had written about. I have experienced both, but they have been far less troubling than my symptoms pre-surgery- they are simply seconds of discomfort at occasional intervals on some days. If your symptoms are as bad as I now know mine were, don't let other people's experience of side effects put you off! Hopefully you'll be lucky like me! I would highly recommend Mr Goldsmith and the LINX proceedure.

I met Mr Goldsmith following months of trying to manage my acid reflux symptoms. Mr Goldsmith is attentive and manages to put you at ease during consultations. I had a number of tests and Mr Goldsmith recommended the Linx device. He explained the process and that there may be ups and downs post operation. I am now three months post op and all my acid symptoms are a distant memory. Mr. Goldsmith told me that if I had any issues he was only an email or phone call away. He proved true to his word and on the two occasions that I messaged him he replied within a few hours. I would highly recommend Mr Goldsmith to anyone who is looking for a consultant who is approachable, friendly and very professional.

I had the Linx procedure to correct my hiatus hernia 6 weeks ago by MR Paul Goldsmith It has proven to be a 100% success I have had no adverse symptoms whatsoever and my reflux is completely cured Mr Goldsmith is the most personable professional you could ever wish to meet His skills and judgment in my opinion are beyond reproach I will definitely be recommending this amazing proceed this outstanding surgeon and the whole team at the spire for their help and care Thankyou for giving me back my life!
